On class 420 dinghies in 25+ knots wind (video)
Very few people are ready to take such risks on light dinghies of the 420 class. The author of the video is a young sailboatsman and talented cameraman Ben Hartnet. The filming location was the Sandringham Yacht Club in Australia.
Class 420 light two-man racing dinghies are considered the best boats for training helmsmen and clews for sailboats in the Olympic and national classes. Characteristic for them are a hull with onboard floodability compartments, a straight stem, a significant collapse of the sides and a flat bottom in the stern - with a moderate weight of the crew (up to 140 kg), this allows you to go on gliding. The 420 boats feature light and efficient rigging with features typical of the higher classes at a much lower cost.
