Love, fate and determination almost led a girl from Dagestan into captivity to Somali pirates - but she does not regret anything
Maisa Gokova spent a year and a half on the high seas: together with her husband, athlete and founder of the sailboating school, Dzhumkhur Gokova, she made a round-the-world trip on a 12.5-meter vessel. She can tell stories about Somali pirates and tropical storms, severe seasickness and how the sea changes the way you look at life. But all these stories are actually about one thing - about love.
- Circle the globe on a sailboat? The idea seemed strange and even impossible to me. How could it not seem so?
