Part 1: Kherson - New Kakhovka
Embankment Ushakov:
The frontier post is not far - on foot 10 minutes. When I went there for the first time and did not yet know the route, somewhere on the half way I found the entrance gate. They were open. Nobody around. I went in, walked around the territory, some soldier confirmed to me that I had hit the right one and showed me where the right building was. I arranged cabotage, went out and went to the same gate through which I had entered. And Comrade Major met me: "Where? Stop!" And then, as in a song: "I was caught, arrested, they ordered me to show my passport." Since the documents were in order, the cabotage was already completed, and my thoughts are pure -I had nothing to show. I was simply escorted to the CORRECT checkpoint and warned to remember forever where to enter this sacred institution :) Later I chose the route for myself:
Red - there (the "stop" sign indicates the gates that cannot be entered). Blue - back, entering the grocery store - I recommend. But there is a problem with fuel. There used to be a gas station nearby, but now, alas, it does not work. Moving away from the embankment, it is recommended that small vessels immediately go to the left bank and move along the left edge of the fairway. And yet, before the first bridge, I do not recommend rushing to turn off the radio station. Although already GDP, but there are a lot of large sea vessels performing maneuvers that are not always clear, so Channel 16 can help to understandenvironment, especially at night. View of Kherson
The first on the way, still within the city, will be the Antonovsky bridge. The height of the bridge is over 16 meters. Even higher, already outside the city - the railway bridge - the only railway artery connecting central and western Ukraine with the Crimea. The height of the bridge is also more than 16 m. Above the railway bridge and up to the town of Kakhovka, navigation is not difficult. The ship's passage is well marked. The right bank is steep and high. Depths near the coast are 8-10 m.h lakes, islands and channels. The place is very beautiful, excellent fishing. Views of the banks of the Dnieper in the area between Kherson and Kakhovka
Approximately a mile from the Kakhovka dam, on the left bank is the sailboat club "Maxim marin". Very beautiful and comfortable place. There is a hotel, a restaurant, a gas station. Parking is paid. "Chunga-Changa" got off with 50 UAH ($8) per day. The price includes a civilized toilet, shower, drinking water. Additional services, such as tennis courts, a sauna, a variety of skiing - for an additional fee. Next to this marina there is a small sailboat club where parking is free. But it is very crowded there, and pieces of rebar stick out from under the water all around from the remnants of somestructures. In my opinion, it is dangerous to go there during the day, but at night I will not advise anyone.
Parking in the marina is also good because it is convenient to get in touch with the lock dispatcher from here. You can call him on the 5th river channel, or by phone: t. (~$30) - this is if the flag is Ukraine. From foreign flags, about four times more (the same trend will continue for other gateways). Actually Kakhovskaya HPP
Kakhovskiy sluice - from below, from inside and from above Water drop is about 16 meters. The height of the passage under the arch is about 20 m.
Right upstream, without going beyond the outport, there are two more sailboat clubs.
What is the name of the sailboat club at the entrance to the North Crimean Canal (western arrow) - I don’t know, so far I haven’t been there. They say it's big and interesting. But you need to know how to enter it. The Lokomotiv Yacht Club (east arrow) is much more modest, but the entrance is simpler. Parking is free at both clubs. The main disadvantage is that it is far from the city - there is no store or gas station. But the people there are hospitable, sympathetic, so they will not let you go to waste. Further on the right bank, opposite the kakhovka, Dremaylovskaya beam. Pts beautiful place. (Today I'm going there to fry kebabs) There is the possibility of approaching the shore for keel sailboats. When going to the beam, you need to keep to the left bank, the right one is very shallow. Near the village of Novobereslav, there is a grocery store on foot 5-10 minutes from the sailboat parking. In Dremaylovskaya beam.
In Dremailovskaya beam.
From the Kakhovskaya dam to the Nikopol Cape (approximately 70 m.m.) there is no clearly marked fairway, navigation in "sea mode". On both sides there are many picturesque bays. Many depths allow keel sailboats to approach "bow to shore"
Beautiful places for recreation and fishing. One of the small bays in the area of Malaya Lepetikha:
Unfortunately, I almost never manage to come to these places for recreation. “I’m running, I’m in a hurry and in a hurry” (C) Therefore, I can’t share more detailed information :( If there is no time to rest, but the task is to pass this section in the minimum time, I recommend the route:
- traverse Kakhovka (buoy No. 5) - 46° 49".010 N; 33° 26".956 E
- traverse of Zmievka village (turn to the north) - 46° 51".654 N; 33° 35".818 E
- Cape Gornostaevka traverse - 47° 00".000 N; 33° 42".500 E
- traverse of Gavrilovsky Bay - 47° 13".860 N; 33° 54".514 E
- traverse of Cape Babino (turn to the east) - 47° 25".080 N; 34° 02.615 E
- axial buoy No. 30 - 47° 31".843 N; 34° 17".797 E
- buoys No. 55-57 (beginning of the narrow fairway) - 47° 32".988 N; 34° 22".991 E
Because, the coast here is visible only in good weather, and it is difficult to navigate along them. According to unverified data, several axle buoys have been installed along this route this year. There used to be two sailboat clubs in Nikopol, but now the privatization of coastal areas has done its dirty deed. Several dozen sailboats are scattered looking for shelter.
There is now a private pier here (47°33"10" N; 34°23 64"E), but I haven't been there and can't objectively describe the situation. Cape Nikopolsky:
