Part Four: Turkey, Istanbul, Atakoy Marina
Well, on July 15 we got to Atakei Marina. What to do next? If the weather on the way back will treat us the same as on the way here, then returning the same way that we came, we will get home on July 30th. I have to go to work on August 4th. If at least one day is left in reserve, then we get three days free. Of these, I want to give at least a day to Istanbul (There are no problems with entering the city without a visa. We asked the guard if he was afraid to let us out, what if we didn’t come back? He calmly replied that we had nowhere to go, because we have here the sailboat is standing)Returning home through Sinop-Sevastopol is clearly not enough time. You can spend these days on the Sea of Marmara, but then you need to draw up a transit log. Of course, we planned to take it, but after all, we thought about using it for two weeks. And so it turns out 350-400 euros in two days - somehow very cool :( And then a “brilliant” thought came: “Why are we clinging to this Turkey? After all, there is such a beautiful and interesting country like Bulgaria at the World Cup!”
The plan is this: we go to the nearest Bulgarian port, where there is a customs office (Burgas). We issue visas and for three or four days slowly under the bank, resting and having fun, we move to Balchik. And there it’s already “within a stone’s throw” to the house :) Does it seem like a good plan? As they will tell us later: “You talk like little children corrupted by all sorts of Turkeys and have lost their sense of reality” :( But this is later, and now that the new plan has been adopted, we have a day to Istanbul;) Yura decided right away - he has two tasks . The first and most important thing is to EAT a Turkish peach in Istanbul, the second is to buy everythingfor change for your future boat. I don’t have such strict goals, I would just “stare”. And so we go to Eminenu, cross the bridge over the Golden Horn Bay and get lost among the countless shops.
Oh yes! The first thing was peaches :) Well, really, very tasty :) And then a short excursion
I don’t comment on the photo, because and I don't know what's in front of me. Just beautiful :)
I stumbled upon "ham radio paradise" and purchased everything I needed to repair the generator. The battery was charged to me at the technical support service of the marina (charging cost some 40 euros). True, when we returned to the marina, I had no strength to sit down at the soldering iron. Moreover, the beer in the marina was so cold. On the morning of July 17, we set off on our way back. Even at home, they scared me that there was a very strong current in the Bosphorus, that the engine was 4 hp. won't go against him for anything. You need at least 10-12. And yet, almost immediately after the entrance to the Bosphorus from the Sea of Marmara, aromatic crossing. There is a lot of traffic here. If from the entire route at 1170 m.m. choose the most difficult mile, then it will be just a mile in the Bosphorus at the ferry crossing. But the fears were unfounded. Only here, on this mile, I gave full throttle. And so - somewhere in three quarters. We walked downstream for 3.5 hours. Back 4.5 hours. We went to sea for 12 miles, goodbye Turkey :)
