Tolyatti - Samara
July 27th. Rest day from everything
Friendship has it all! The territory of the sailboat club is huge, people are friendly, there is a hot shower, a cafe, etc., etc. We only made a short walk to the store, along the path through the pine forest. We like it here. Local sailboatsmen come up, take an interest in the boat, tell us what lies ahead for us, and give advice. It seems that we have decided where we will leave the boat for the winter. Vladimir Podgornykh, who first met us here, advised the Edelweiss sailboat club in Saratov, and Slava from Gloria also recommended him. I called Edelweiss and yes, we are ready tofrost and put in for the winter. Vladimir also gave us the phone number of his friend from Samara, Grigory, he will meet us there. We went to pay for parking, but were expelled with the wording "stay another day for free", a heavenly place!)) In the evening, right after the race, two girls from the female crew of the Migo sailboat, captain Valeria Rozova, and Olga Zaitseva, came to visit us, we sat very well, sincerely, and then moved to them on "Migo" and continued there ... so in the morning I barely got up)). And Valeria also gave, just in case, a contact in Saratov - Alexei Chirkin, what would we do without negthen did?)
July 28, morning. We filled all the water tanks and left Druzhba. We contacted the dispatcher and head to the next gateway.
The gateway to Tolyatti has two chambers, you must first go through one, then about 3.5 km along the lake and then the second. In the first chamber, we moored behind the ship and in the second we had to go along with it. But his speed is three times higher than ours and the ship had to wait for us for 10 minutes until we reach the second chamber. And the aunt-dispatcher has been urging us on the radio all this time, they say, try with all your might, they are waiting for you))) Immediately after the lock there is a floating gas station, we used it.
After the locks and all the way to Samara, magnificent views from all sides
There are many nice recreation centers along the shores.

If I'm not mistaken, all this splendor around is the Zhiguli Mountains
View through the key. Katya took pictures, then she will have a conflict with this key)
strange neighborhood
I thought about such a floating cottage in a beautiful place ... I wonder how this can be done in practice without violating anything ...
Already closer to Samara. The photo is not very visible, but under the seagulls there is a long shoal barely hidden by water. And they constantly take off, then sit down on it. You have to come here with a floating ambush.
14:20 we approached the meadow named after Frunze. Gregory is waiting for us here. The reference point is a large two-masted sailboat on a ghoul. A dead man is a heavy anchor with a buoy forever drowned in one place, if you didn’t know and thought something bad))) So Grigory is sailing in a rowboat to meet us and help to become attached to the same dead man. In Samara, almost all sailboats are on dead bodies. We get acquainted, it turns out that Grigory ran away from work specifically to meet us. I jump into his boat and we swim ashore, get acquainted with the club's security and look at the construction site.I boat Gregory.
Gregory is an avid diver, underwater hunter and scuba diver. He makes a steel sailboat, noticeably larger than ours, very interesting. But even more interesting are his stories about the flooded ships. Yes, and on the Volga there is a place for treasures, albeit without chests with piastres ... although, who knows!))
I return to the boat and get hit on the ears for a long absence - a lot of motorboats and boats are passing by, the sailboat is rocking strongly at anchor, and Katya cannot go down to the shore without me. I quickly change into a decent look, jump into the boat of the sailboat club and ... I miss the oar, which cheerfully sails away, slowly sinking. There is nothing to do, I jump into the water in all my clothes and catch an oar. Another 5 minutes for the next dressing and we are on the beach. We rent a boat and oars, and go to the city. But it's not easy. You have to take a taxi. We choose a place on the map - Gorky Park, but the taxi service does not knowyut such a park and just hang up. In the second, they take the order, but they can’t figure out where to pick us up from, and they also hang up. Yet a minute later, an SMS arrives that they will pick us up. We reach the city center and slowly walk in the opposite direction.
To our left are the main historical buildings of the Zhiguli brewery, and in the photo is the building where the store was located, if I didn’t mess anything up ...
We pass by the Samara State District Power Plant and the monument to the heating radiator. It turns out that the prototype of the well-known battery appeared for the first time in the building of the Samara Art Museum already in 1914!
You can’t go out with dogs on the newly rebuilt embankment, but our Fenya is not just a dog, but a member of the crew of the sailboat, so we walked a little (Fenya didn’t misbehave on the lawns, because she was mischievous in specially designated places, and we cleaned up all the hooliganism after her ), and looked at the Volga from the shore.
Monument to Prince Grigory Zasekin - the first governor and builder of Samara
We return to the boat, according to tradition, through the store) Here it is, our haven. The boats are tied to the buoys from the ghouls. To get on board, you need to take a rescue boat, guard the oars and then return everything to the shore. It is inconvenient for me to ask the guards to take us to the sailboat, and therefore, having returned the oars and the boat, I get on board by swimming.
In the morning, just by swimming, without home and without shouting to the guards, I swim ashore.
Cold fast water invigorates. By the way, thanks to the strong current, the water here is very clean, unlike in the reservoir part of the Volga.
The guard changed, and it took me a little time to explain who I am and where I came from) and here we are, the three of us, the guard, his dog and I are sailing to untie us from the ghouls.
Having unmoored, we keep our way past the embankment, along which we walked yesterday
And on the right bank, or rather on the islands opposite Samara, there are an innumerable number of tent settlements of local residents
It seems that the building of the Zhiguli brewery is just to the right of the church, yesterday we did not see it from land.
To cut, we turn into the Volozhka duct. We are going in a straight line, but these fearless guys on a motorboat loaded with drinks to the very gunwale write out a sinusoid, and every now and then they find themselves on our course. Looks like they are tasting the contents of the bottles on the go)))
At the entrance to the canal we meet the first cormorants. Oh, how many of them will be later, I’ll have to write a separate post!))
Samara is left behind...
Thanks for reading, to be continued...
