Tsimlyansk reservoir
What day of travel is today? I don't even remember. The day is like a day, but today, June 19, we went to the Don, and this is a significant milestone on our way. Well, another 118 km passed.
We started at 8:00 in the morning from the bay, which was kindly pointed out to us by the dispatcher of the last passed lock. Thanks again!
We walked about 5 km along the canal, and now, behind the white turret, the waters of the Don River.
Very soon, the Don overflows, filling the Tsimlyansk reservoir, which stretches for about 150 km. We won't make it through one day. Behind this railway bridge, a wide part of the reservoir begins, but the ship's passage remains quite narrow and winding, shallows await us from left to right. So let's go on the buoys
Terns are watching so that we do not stray from the course))
The right bank is similar to the Volga, beautiful and high. The left one is visible in the distance as a narrow strip
11:00. Just on the approach to the bridge we are covered with a cloud. There doesn't seem to be a day that I don't get wet.
Immediately after the bridge, the fairway comes close to the right bank, and a nice crane passes by the railroad - push-pull, even the drivers sit on both sides and, probably, compete with each other))
Royal bird))) Just like from the coat of arms))
Cormorants sometimes fly past, but, in general, there are few birds. In such a heat, I would also burrow somewhere in a cool wine cellar, but I have to steer ...
Tsimlyansky landscape. Boredom!) On the other hand, we can say that we are lucky, there are real storms here ..
boredom 2
boredom 3
Quite occasionally they float past the court
Terns sit on the water
Only the hungriest hunt
Yes, and those, no, no, yes, and sit down to rest. Often on our boat, here I have entertainment))
But basically it looks like this...
Toward evening, herons began to appear low flying over the water.
The sun is setting. In the hope of photographing the "pink seagull", I took the camera
But, it turned out only a smeared tern, and a fuzzy buoy. Okay, better luck next time! :)
At 19:50 we turned onto an additional ship's passage leading to the Krasnoyarsk refuge.
And I changed the TV set to wide ..
Calmly! Everything is in order with the ship, this is not an explosion, and it was not we who launched the torpedo)))
At 20:30 we entered the Krasnoyarsk shelter. So-so place. Closed from the east and north wind, but with a very wide mouth, I would even say that it is wide open to the west. According to the forecast, the wind will be northwest at night, and not very strong. So we drop two anchors, with the expectation that from whichever direction it blows, we are not stranded.
We made several attempts to get closer to the shore, but a heart-rendingly squeaking echo sounder told us to stay away. Then they inflated the ace and I, already in the dark, took Fenya to the evening promenade. True, a leisurely walk did not work out - we fled in disgrace from hordes of mosquitoes. I rowed back to the sailboat with one oar, and fought off the bloodsuckers with the other))) But the worst was ahead. Believe it or not, but the mosquitoes tried to break the hatches and get into our cabin, we had to barricade ourselves!))
June 20 7:00. Fenya and I are back on the beach. Boat at anchor
Berezhok looks like this - flooded bushes, clay and mosquitoes)
The mosquito, which did not break into the cabin at night, and other winged enemies, staged an orgy outside. Here are the consequences...
A little closer. I couldn't wash this mess all the way to the sea...
The path from the shelter to Volgodonsk lies almost in a straight line. It's deeper and wider here. There's not even much more to say. At 4 pm we left the reservoir behind.
The high water sluice is closed by a wall. That's where the cormorant kingdom! But, we are not here, we are "to the left of the gateway." There, in the depths of the imperceptible, until you rest against it, the channels are the Volgodonsk Yacht Club. For a long time we walked to it, one might say, even sneaked, frightened by numerous stories about low water and shoals. And all in vain, they didn’t run aground! But nothing, more to come!)
Around 5 pm we silently approached the sailboat club, so quietly that I startled the man on the moored boat when I called out to him to ask where we could stand. Then shops, a gas station, another store and still have time to grab a handful of cherries from a tree at the gate to the sailboat club, for a snack!)) View from the sailboat club to the gateway
Thanks for reading, to be continued...
