Day 5: Millomeris waterfall - Linou
After spending the night, we climbed a little and ended up in some town where we looked at houses with unusual architecture. By the way, our climbs were always strictly on schedule, but the fees themselves took about 2 hours. Therefore, we usually left by 10 o'clock in the afternoon.
Let's go further up.
Road signs were a great help. The main navigator we had was my iphone with the offline maps application "maps.me" installed. I want to say that the thing is very convenient, the maps are accurate and it is easy to upload a new site. The application is free.
The higher we climb, the more beautiful the views :)
Another lure. Often we have halts, about every hour - an hour and a half.
The first 5 minutes after the start of the halt, everyone is silent) restore breathing, etc.
We got to some hotel right in front of the fork to the top of the mountain and the road past it, already on the descent.
Hotel-restaurant with free wifi))) We could not miss this opportunity )
Hotel prices - um :) We saw a lot of cyclists in this place.
We rested and decided to climb to the top together. Initially, there was an idea to send part of the group up without bikes, and part will remain below - those who are not interested in going up the mountain. It turned out that everyone was interested :)
Actually, at the top. There is a military base here and the whole view is blocked by thorns.
We also met two cyclists from Latvia who traveled here from Paphos for one day and back the same day. They were light, on road bikes without tents and sleeping bags. One of them neighed with us when we were resting on the side of the road, and he was driving nearby - he shouted to us: "we need to turn" and pedaled further) We then repeated this phrase for another 4 days to those who were lagging behind)
We went back to the fork. An awesome descent will begin here, which we will fly at an average speed of 50 km / h.
The roads are very good by Ukrainian standards. Here you will not find holes or patches as we like to do. Almost everywhere there are light reflectors so that at night it is good to see the boundaries of the road. True, we did not go at night, except for the very first day (or rather, evenings).
For obvious reasons, I almost didn’t take pictures on the descent - it wasn’t before that)
Here we almost split into 2 groups: one part went along one road, the second - along the other. It happened by accident, we lost sight of each other due to the fact that we were descending at different speeds and the road was winding. But then found :)
In the central part of the island there are very beautiful towns.
Dima climbed for citrus provisions)
We make tangerine fresh from tangerines that were natyryli in the garden next to the place of spending the night) There are so many of them that we no longer knew what else to do with them. It was just not interesting anymore)
Today I managed to record a track. In previous days this was a problem - the Garmin Dakota 20 was buggy and would not save the track. We drove 50 km, climb - 1000m.
Today was not as hot as yesterday, and I managed to catch a cold on the descent.
