Day 3: Drive in the rain and visit Zlochiv Castle
The attendants woke up at 7:10 and called to eat pasta with stew. We ate and while we were breaking camp, it rained a couple of times, but the forest around us kept the drops. As soon as we left the forest, a downpour immediately began and the wheels quickly became 2 times thicker due to mud. Having somehow cleaned it, we got to the asphalt and drove in the rain along the route to the fork in the dirt road. On reflection, we decided to make a detour along the asphalt so as not to drown in the swamp, which the primer turned into. Gradually the rain passed and the clouds became thinner.
The next castle along the route was in the village of Zlochiv, which we reached in a couple of hours.
We liked the castle more than anything we have already seen. The thickness of the walls of the castle is 2 meters, inside the walls there are 2 palaces, one in the Chinese style, the second in the Renaissance. In the Chinese palace, photography was forbidden. Tickets to both palaces cost 50 UAH.
Fountain in the central part of the castle
Inside the palaces, we have seen enough of the hall with the horns of dead animals, the throne and dining rooms, furnished with ancient carved furniture that has been preserved for centuries. I liked the library, which has preserved the special atmosphere that happens in reading rooms.
After wandering around the castle for an hour, we dined in the park next to bacon and sandwiches, and the local furious mosquitoes - us. Suddenly, a bird sitting on a branch decided to go straight to Grisha's spread rug, which made him incredibly happy =)
Beautiful house in the village
we drove further, we had to go to the village of Podgortsy, to see the local castle. There was a steep climb to Podgortsy, which took 30 minutes to drive in gear 1-2. In Podgortsy we met a group of cyclists from Kyiv: they were mostly on two-suspension and generally equipped in a major way. We didn’t make it to the castle before closing and moved it to the morning. We spent the night in the forest nearby, had dinner, and as soon as we went to bed, it started to rain. Right now I am writing, and the rain is drumming on the tent.
We drove about 45 km. He did not record the climb during the day, and the total climb from the beginning of the trip is 1331 meters. Another 669 will be in the 2nd category, although we have declared the first one. On that day, my phone ran out of battery and my idea to keep online reports failed. Without a good external battery (10 Ah) there is nothing to think about writing daily reports. Or you need a solar panel, but for sunny weather. May in this part of Ukraine is not distinguished by a large number of sunny days) I will describe the rest of the days of the trip from memory)
